Privacy Policy — Placebo Virtual Pill (PVP)

This Privacy Policy explains how Creative Tree SRL (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Placebo Virtual Pill (PVP) iOS app.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, managed through Firebase Authentication (Google LLC).
App Usage Data
To provide the app’s features, we store the following in our secure database (Firebase Firestore):
- Daily ritual records — whether you took your virtual pill on a given day
- Journal entries — text you write in the in-app journal
- Chat messages — your conversations with the PVP guide
- Message usage count — how many chat messages you’ve sent in the current month
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to PVP Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.). We receive only your subscription status — we never see your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Sync your ritual history, journal, and chat across sessions
- Enforce your monthly message limit (100 messages/month for Premium)
- Manage and verify your subscription status
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
3. AI Chat (OpenAI)
When you send a message to the PVP guide, the text of your message and recent conversation history are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate a response. OpenAI processes this data under their own Privacy Policy. We do not send your name, email, or any other personally identifying information to OpenAI.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except for the service providers listed below, solely to operate the app:

5. Data Retention
Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes all your data from our servers.
6. Children’s Privacy
PVP is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including Firebase’s built-in encryption and security rules, to protect your data. Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account only.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
